One Health Scholarships

Diseases at the human/wildlife interface are the biggest challenge that public health is facing for wildlife and people. With vigilance and care, by using a multidisciplinary approach of controlling diseases in communities, the wildlife tourism that would generate income in the local communities, will be sustainable. This program will teach our graduates to be a liaison to address issues that affect communities living at the wildlife interface and prepare them to be at the frontline of planning projects that benefit and improves the livelihood of the people through creating education programs, improving health facilities and developing entrepreneurship projects.

Project Overview

The One Health Scholarship places emphasis on the concept that people, wildlife and the environment are inextricably linked. The scholarship candidates will provide leadership and management to protect and improve the health and economic welfare of local communities.


Our objectives are:


a) the scholarship will provide sustainable benefits long into the future.

b) to prepare students to be involved in the grassroots, regional, or national economic development activities that affect local communities.

c) to create leaders to steward local economic development.

d) to address economic issues that affect the poor, low income, and underserved communities through resource management, resilience planning, and preparedness.

e) to interact with local leaders, politicians and organizations to strengthen and support local economic development.

f) develop opportunities for local sustainable employment, improve the livelihood of people dramatically and empower extremely marginalized communities.

g) to alleviate poverty.

Rotary Club of St. Albert 30th Anniversary Virtual Gala

The result was an evening of fun on Tuesday, July 7, which raised $50,000. The money will go to support SAIF---Stop Abuse in Families, youth mental health and other organizations supporting those in St. Albert hit hard by COVID-19.

Edmonton Area Rotary Integrity Awards
